Unit 6 - Produce Feature Film

Task 1

In the making of our own feature film we are making and where first asked to create a media CV for a role we would like to be and why for the upcoming project, although I did not get any major roles like a Director but I did create one anyways, it may be incomplete but its a work in progress for moment

Code and Conventions of a TV drama is a structure of a story is built upon for example The antagonist is there within the story who opposes the protagonist against a certain goal in the story for example Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. and they are drama sub genres that is split over multiple genres like Fantasy Dramas like Game of Thornes and Soaps like Coronation street. Another TV drama convention you would see is through narrative for what strives the characters to move forward. How code and conventions can be used for my role within the group is that is having extras within the shop is good for the overall narrative and plot of the story

Task 2

My role within the producing this feature film is I am a 3rd AD so I organise where the extras are in the shot and what they are wearing, the expectation's of this job is that when extras are on set i have to tell them what the should do when and also what they wear, another responsibility would be to inform them of any costume changes in advance so they can prepare for the shoot. The other people I work with is the other ADs on set  where I run  if anyone will need extra equipment I would get it and if the 1st AD is away i would take his role briefly in till he returns, and I would provide my input if needed when making the provided shot. Another role i have is a Clapper boarder so my role would to write down the current take and scene where are recording so the editor knows where we are in the shot. The responsibilities for this job would be if i don't job the take down the editor will not know where we are and the editing will take longer the normal, the type of people you would work with the crew itself since you are needed for every scene.

My Job can affect other people work in the process since if  I miss a couple of shots and we go onto the next scene the editors will look upon the footage we made and be confused where we are since I didn't write it down on the board at the start if the take. Another person that would be unconvinced by me not doing something would the camera operators since it will take longer to shoot if I'm not there there but they can always use someone else, plus if the clapper board is missing entirely both camera operators and editors will effected in some way.

Peer Review: Robert Dobson 1st AD ( 1st Assistant Director )

Firstly, his role within the project was something like a overseer who was given the task of helping the crew but also give commands when needed like the phrases quiet on set and action, he preformed his appointed role fairly well, when on set he almost did what they asked of him to almost perfection despite a couple of instances on set where he was absent, and I was given his role while he was away but while when he was on set he was more than willing to take other roles when needed, for example he would use the directors commands if they were busy but also provide instruction to both the cast and crew when it was necessary.  Also his role within the projected affected me since, If he where away I was briefly 1st AD and his commands he gave me was short and efficient in which provided me enough time to get what he asked of me done.

Peer Review : The Directors ( Martin Cunningham & Alex Temperley )

Firstly, They role as Directors was to give instructions to the Cast and Crew on where they would like the next shot to be but also give also when necessary if they though that the actors needed something within the scene to improve but another part of the role was to be heart of the project and shape how they would like there movie to be in the final product, They did the roles pretty well in my opinion since they adjust to there roles fairly quick and If they thought something in a specific scene they wanted changing they could, If I had to say something they could improve on i could say that Martin did more directing than Alex did and I didn't quite see what there approach was throughout the creative process. There roles affected mine on set when i was doing the clapper board tasks, they would tell me where i was positioned and provide help if it was needed.

Here are some shots that were taken on set of us working on the feature film, as you can see on photo 1 it is off me before a take my role within the crew was to write down the current take and scene on to the clapper board and make it visible in the take while recording so that when the editors are going through the footage that was taken they know exactly what scene they are looking at but also what take it may be in the process. In photo 2 its is of the director Martin looking at the script with the Script editor, this way he knows what lines are being said so he can tell the actors if they need help but to also see if they has been any changes been made and to be aware of them. Finally you can see the appointed sound operator ready for the next scene so there is sound within the film, this role is important since without sound the quality of the overall film with go down.

Task 3

This is a collection of the of the paperwork that the group made throughout the project

Task 4

Firstly, we finished most of the production went well since everyone did there roles they were given freely well, My role I was given wasn't ideal but i made it work with the clapper board work and helping out the extras if they needed it, half through we did have some weather trouble since we where filming outside for a car scene and it was set at night so we had to wait for the chance to film although the could have used day for night in editing you can change the sky so that it look like its night time, the problem was that we waited till 8 and when we were gonna  Film  and it rained so we we had call it all off, when we were filing at the boxing gym in Middlesbrough it worked out pretty well because we completed all the necessary scenes in two days of been there. Finally we had to change the location of the final scene because we couldn't all come up Roseberry topping with all that equipment and have the risk of falling and even breaking the equipment so we had to relocate.

Task 5
When we were first starting out so that it says to the audience that something is coming but not explicitly saying to much on all the social media like Twitter and Instagram, then eventually  filmed more we produced a trailer in which i will display now so if you want to see it in  which      was put on all the social media which was the Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The release is                        on the 28th of April where it will be show on the big screen at the cinemas

Task 6

Looking back at the project I think my roles I was given went okay I did everything that was asked of me although my role did feel a bit lacklustre in a way since I wish I did more then just
doing the clapper board jobs but expanding my horizons a bit more, not exactly into the director
roles like a director of photography but more a technical side of things like an editor or even a
sound operator, so in the future i would prefer it if i would take a more physical job so i can get
more used to the equipment and also the software, and possibly get even better at it in the
  process.

particularly not a high class role for example a director or even a director of photography but
more of a prominent role. One thing I would like to change for a future project would be that I
would have a role like a Light or Sound Operator so I would see what it is like to be in that role
and if it is for me or not in which may help me in the future, plus it will help my understanding
of those jobs and if I would be willing to do them in the future.

r of photography job or even a director job but more of a job that was slightly more fulfilling but overall i think it went okay as it could    be  , everyone in the group settled with there jobs fairly good as i had hoped. What i enjoyed the         most from this project was going out to unique places like how w
